Joint Job Fair Job Seekers Flyer 1DES PLAINES – State Senator Laura Murphy will join State Representatives Michelle Mussman and Justin Cochran to host a job fair event through the Illinois Department of Employment Security.

“While technology makes applying for and finding new jobs easier, job fairs provide an important opportunity for job seekers to build face-to-face connections with employers and learn about different professional pathways,” said Murphy (D-Des Plaines). “I encourage job seekers to take advantage of this event to find a career that inspires them.”

The job fair will be on Aug. 17, located in Meeting Rooms B and C at the Des Plaines Public Library at 1501 Ellinwood St. The event will be open to veterans from 10 to 10:30 a.m., before being opened to the public from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“Job fairs are an amazing resource for recent college and high school graduates, and anyone looking for a change of pace in their careers," said Mussman (D-Schaumburg)."It's easy to fill out online job applications, but I encourage you all to come meet with local employers to make an in-person connection while on the job hunt. I'm looking forward to seeing you all there."

“The labor market is changing and has been for a long time. Now is the best time to build your professional network and explore opportunities,” said Cochran (D-Des Plaines). “I am happy to be able to help with events like this for the good of the people in and around my district.”
