“Private companies should not have limitless control over the personal data of consumers, and should face consequences if they violate consumer privacy,” said Murphy (D-Des Plaines). “Consumers have a right to know what data is being collected and the steps they can take to limit the use of their data.”

“As the O’Hare Airport Modernization Program moves forward, we cannot allow residents who are being disturbed by airport noise to slip through the cracks when they need us,” said Murphy (D-Des Plaines). “This legislation ensures that we use updated data to provide accurate coverage of the sound insulation program to residents who need it.”

SPRINGFIELD – State Senator Laura Murphy (D-Des Plaines) issued the following statement after the governor outlined his budget proposal for Fiscal Year 2027:

“While the Trump administration causes day-to-day uncertainty to the funding for our state, the governor has proposed a cautious, fiscally responsible budget. I will continue to prioritize the hardworking people of Illinois and support a balanced budget that does not increase taxes for middle-class families.

Murphy to host legislative town halls this January

TownHallDES PLAINES –State Senator Laura Murphy will be hosting three legislative town halls in the 28th District throughout January.

“These town halls are a great opportunity to hear from residents on issues important to them and to stay caught up on the decisions we made in Springfield this past year,” said Murphy (D-Des Plaines). “I encourage residents to come out and learn about what’s going on around the state.”

Murphy is hosting three town halls in January:

  • Tuesday, Jan. 6, from 6-7 p.m. at Des Plaines Public Library, 1501 Ellinwood St., Des Plaines, Room C
  • Wednesday, Jan. 21, 6-7 p.m. at Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Rd., Schaumburg., Rasmussen South Room, 2nd Floor
  • Tuesday, Jan. 27, 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Park Ridge Public Library, 20 S. Prospect Ave., Park Ridge, First Floor Meeting Room
